Trauma dressings are normally found in larger first aid kits, and are much larger themselves compared to regular dressings. They are also much more absorbent, meaning that when they are applied with adequate pressure, they will absorb a lot of blood. Bear in mind, that the victim may be losing a lot of blood which is going into the dressing. After wrapping the dressing around tightly, tie off any excess. Keep a look out for any blood which soaks all the way through the dressing, and should this happen, apply another over the top of the last dressing.
